Who's on the Ready By 21 Coalition?

American YouthWorks (AYW) American YouthWorks is a charter high school for at-promise youth ages 16-21. Other services offered include: on-site health center, AmeriCorps projects including construction and environmental work, WorkSource Youth Services program that provides employment training to youth as well as job placement, connection to higher education and training, and support services to help youth be successful.
Austin Area Urban League (AAUL) The mission of the Austin Area Urban League, Inc. is to assist African American and disadvantaged citizens in the achievement of social and economic equality.
Austin Independent School District (AISD) AISD has 12 High Schools, 18 Middle and Junior High Schools, and 74 Elementary Schools that serve the needs of approximately 76,000 students. AISD Schools have recently earned 16 National Blue Ribbons and 4 Texas State Blue Ribbon Awards.
Austin Partners in Education (APIE) Austin Partners in Education works to create and foster effective community-school partnerships that support and enrich student learning and success.
Austin Voices for Education and Youth (AVEY) Austin Voices for Education and Youth engages young people and community members to strengthen public education and expand opportunities for all children and youth in Austin. Our high school-aged Youth Moblizers receive credits towards graduation and are paid for their afterschool work researching issues and advocating for change.
City of Austin Health & Human Services (COA) Our youth programs provide an array of services to motivate eligible youth to complete their education, obtain gainful employment, and lead healthy, productive lives.
College Forward College Forward provides college preparatory and college retention services to motivated, economically-disadvantaged students, in order to facilitate their transition to college and make the process exciting and rewarding. We believe that access to higher education is the right of every young Texan.
Communities in Schools of Central Texas (CIS) Communities in Schools seeks to decrease the school dropout rate by providing school-based quality social services and enrichment activities. CIS enables young people to learn, stay in school and prepare for a successful life by providing school-based social services and links to community resources.
Council on At Risk Youth (CARY) The Council on At Risk Youth is a private nonprofit corporation dedicated to the prevention of youth violence through public information, training and management of violence prevention programs for groups of high-risk youth.
Goodwill Industries Goodwill is the lead agency for the WIA Youth Employment Partnership serving in-school and out-of-school youth ages 14-21 via a partnership with AYW, CIS, and AAUL. Goodwill's emphasis is serving people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) The Youth Services group of the Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) focuses its efforts on school dropout prevention. In support of keeping children in school, HACA has developed after-school tutoring programs onsite at HACA communities, in-school case management services for students, incentive programs, and a higher education scholarship program. Additionally, HACA's Youth Services group coordinates with local providers of quality after-school non-scholastic programs to ensure that public housing youth are engaged in meaningful activities outside of school hours.
LifeWorks LifeWorks provides counseling, housing, education, and lifeskills development services to youth.
Out Youth Out Youth is a non-profit organization providing support and services to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth ages 12 to 19 in Austin and Central Texas.
SkillPoint Alliance (formerly the Capital Area Training Foundation) Skillpoint Alliance builds partnerships between industry, education, and the community leading to college and career success for Central Texans, while meeting employers' needs for a qualified workforce.
Texas Dept. of Assistive & Rehabilitative Services (DARS) The Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) is an agency of the Texas health and human services system. Four state agencies have merged into the new DARS, which will provide programs and support for people with disabilities and families of children with development delays.
Texas Youth Commission (TWC) TYC provides for the care, custody, rehabilitation, and reestablishment in society of Texas' most chronically delinquent or serious juvenile offenders. Texas judges commit these youth to TYC for mostly felony-level offenses committed when they were at least age 10 and less than age 17.
Travis County Afterschool Network (TCAN) * The Travis County Afterschool Network (TCAN) was established as a collaborative effort between private and non-profit organizations in the Travis County area that are committed to supporting providers that serve school-age children and their families during out-of-school time.
Travis County Juvenile Probation Department The mission of Travis County Juvenile Probation Department is to provide for public safety, while effectively addressing the needs of juveniles, families, and victims of crime.
United Way Capital Area (UWCA) United Way Capital Area creates measurable improvements in the community by collaborating with partner agencies, other service providers, contributors, volunteers and other funders.
YouthLaunch (formerly Peer Assistance Network of America) YouthLaunch is an Austin based non-profit committed to providing empowering service opportunities for young people. YouthLaunch provides multiple avenues for youth to engage in positive service experiences that empower and inspire each participant, providing them with the assets they need to live healthy, happy and successful lives while having a lasting effect on the community served.
Youth Taking Charge Youth Taking Charge focuses on preventing situational poverty from becoming generational poverty by providing residential camps, retreats and mentoring to middle-school youth.
Young Women's Christian's Association (YWCA) The YWCA empowers women and girls through counseling and other supportive services.

Organization Brief Description
Literacy Coalition of Central Texas * The Literacy Coalition promotes skilled workers and strong families through literacy. We support all groups providing services in English as a Second Language (ESOL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), computer literacy, health literacy, prison literacy, and workplace literacy.
Pip Start Pip Start’s objective is to nurture the seed of purpose in youth through the five major programs: Master Builder (Math, Science, Character), Praise in the Park (Youth of Purpose Celebration), Galatia (Self-Defense), Breakout (Teen nights) and Relationship Salsa 4 Life (Dance, fitness and relationships).
The Austin Project (TAP) TAP, a social incubator-catalyst bringing together schools, government and community resources to improve the lives of children and their families.
Travis County Health & Human Services (TC HHS) Travis County is dedicated to coordination of service delivery for direct services, grant funded services and community services for children and their families, and provides or coordinates programs for prevention, targeted intervention, and treatment to at-risk children and youth.
