Welcome to Ready by 21 for Austin/Travis County
The focus of the Ready by 21 initiative in Austin/Travis County is to provide a comprehensive system of services and supports to prepare all young people in our community to be ...
  • Ready for higher education and learning
  • Ready for work and career advancement
  • Ready to lead healthy lives, and
  • Ready for positive social and civic connections and engagement

The Ready by 21 Coalition is a collaborative group of youth service providers, educators, government agency representatives, and other community members, and the initiative connects to several other youth-focused coalitions in the Austin/Travis County area. The Coalition serves as the Youth Issue Area Group of the Community Action Network (CAN).

Workforce Solutions – Capital Area Workforce Board and United Way Capital Area are sponsors of the initiative.  Ready by 21 is a trademark of the Forum for Youth Investment in Washington, DC - we are a member of the Forum's Ready by 21 learning network.

By working together, we can improve:

  • Outcomes for youth
  • Use of existing resources
  • Information to identify gaps and bring in outside resources
  • Support for youth leadership, and active input from and response to youth
  • Coordination and communication among stakeholders
